The Georgia State Patrol has released the identities of three people who suffered fatal injuries following a wreck at mile marker 343 along I-75 in Catoosa County early Sunday morning.

Marcial Gonzalez-Solis, 27, of Dalton, Deany Arreguin, 39, of Dalton, and Hector Perez-Garcia, 30, of Chattanooga, Tenn., were confirmed dead at the scene after the 2002 Ford Explorer they were traveling in flipped over tossing the three from the vehicle.

The wreck took place at approximately 5:36 a.m. Sunday, June 5.

The driver of the SUV, 40-year-old Alexandra Dias, was the only passenger of the four not ejected from the vehicle, and was also the only one wearing a seatbelt.

The accident is believed to have been caused by the driver losing control of the vehicle and then overcorrecting, which caused the vehicle to flip and begin a barrel roll down the interstate.

According to an eyewitness statement in the report, the vehicle was seen driving “erratically” and at a “high rate of speed” when it flipped over and began rolling after making a hard turn in an attempt to avoid striking another vehicle.

Due to the swiftness of the accident, oncoming traffic behind the SUV had a hard time avoiding the vehicle, debris and persons ejected during the accident.

One of the bodies thrown from the vehicle during the crash was struck by an oncoming tractor-trailer, while another vehicle struck a car battery.

According to the report, the driver of the tractor-trailer stated seeing emergency flashers on a vehicle ahead on the right shoulder, and then attempted to move over to the center lane.

While attempting to avoid debris the driver stuck one of the passengers who had been ejected from the SUV driven by Dias.

The operator of the tractor-trailer will not face any charges for running over the victim ejected from the SUV.

It is unknown at this time whether the victim died before or after being struck by the tractor-trailer.

The report shows that the GSP did administer a blood alcohol test due to suspected alcohol use on the part of Dias. The test results are still pending at this time.

The report also states that the three fatality victims’ conditions were classified as “under the influence of medications/drugs/alcohol” at the time of the crash.

i just don't understand why some people drink and drive and then drive so fast on a busy Hiway. To me that's asking for trouble. Please people if your going to drink, either stay home or get a desinated driver to drive you around, There is no excuse for driving drunk, you not only risk your life, but you risk the lives of other people also. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE, it's not worth your life!
