The Heritage Generals avenged a Nov. 19 dual match loss to Gordon Lee by beating the Trojans, 42-33, in the finals of the North Georgia Athletic Conference Duals on Saturday at Lakeview Middle School.

Heritage won their opening-round match against Chattanooga Valley, before beating Trion in the semifinals. Top-seeded Gordon Lee punched their ticket to the finals with wins over Dade County and Ringgold.

In the championship finals, the Generals got pins from Tanner Stone (72), Blake Bryant (78), David Freeman (86), Chucky Thurman (115), and Zaine Burton (150). Dylan Jernigan (100) and Luke Grant (130) each won minor decision, while Tanner Nance (180) claimed six points via forfeit.

Chase Weber (94), Spencer Elliott (123), Drew Cobb (140), Andrew Wilson (165), and Cole Tarvin (HWT) all won by pin for Gordon Lee while Zach Murdock (108) won a major decision.

The Generals finished second in last year’s tournament, losing in the finals to LaFayette. It was the first NGAC Duals title for Heritage in four years.
