High atop Monteagle on Monday night, the Bobcats repeated the first half from just two weeks ago against Sewanee, falling behind early leading to a 32-24 deficit at the break.
Full court pressure throughout most of the second half saw the Tigers’ lead get cut to one on two different occasions. Three-pointers from freshman Bobcats Tavish Reynolds and Hunter Ivester helped get the lead down to the one-point margins.
However, three-point attempts in the final two minutes would miss their mark and the host Tigers would hit free throws down the stretch in a 62-55 win.
Reynolds went 5-of-6 from behind the arc, leading the Bobcats in scoring with 15 on the night. Miller, Hunter Ivester and Bud Todd would each score 10 points each for Georgia Northwestern.
Gulf Shores, Alabama-native Bryan Beviacqua would led the Tigers in the win with 18 points on the night.
The Bobcats and Lady Cats are both in action Tuesday night at the R.A.C. for Georgia Northwestern's Annual Toy Drive Games. One free admission for each new toy donated to the drive at the gate. All donations will go towards the North Georgia Stocking Full of Love Toy Drive.
The Lady Cats get things going with a 6 p.m. tip-off against Mid-South College. The Bobcats game will immediately follow the completion of the Lady Cats match-up.
