Deborah Faye Revels, 55

Deborah Faye Revels, formerly of the Chattanooga and north Georgia areas, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, in a local hospital. She was 55.

She had lived most of her life in the Rossville area before moving to Section, Ala., several years ago, and was employed for many years in retail sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Leroy Revels and Reba Sue Bray Porter.

Survivors include her sons, Danny Revels of Chickamauga, Tracy Peck of Jackson, Tenn., Brandon White of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Josh Revels of East Ridge, Tenn.; brother, David Revels of Rossville; sisters, Robin Hamilton of Valley Head, Ala., Kimberly Leedy of Hayward, Calif., Lisa Singleton of Rossville and Carol Barnes of Monte Rio, Calif.; one grandson; one granddaughter; five nieces and five nephews.

Hilda Faye Penney, 84, Ringgold

Hilda Faye Penney of Ringgold died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, in a local health care facility. She was 84.

Ms. Penney was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and was retired from Hutcheson Medical Center where she was employed as a medical technician for many years. She was a former member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky Smith; grandson, Keith Jenkins, and great-granddaughter, Caroline Jenkins.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Jeannetta Hutson; daughter, Cindy Brickey; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; niece, Phyllis Wetzel, and several other nieces and nephews.

Jessie Lee Ashley, 95, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Jessie Lee Ashley of Chattanooga, Tenn., died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at a local hospital. He was 95.

Ashley was a native of Winchester, Tenn., and had lived most of his life in Chattanooga. He retired from Southern Wood Piedmont in 1981 with over 40 years of service. His passions in life were his family, gardening and cooking.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Ashley; son, Larry Ashley; grandson, Andrew Henderson, and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include four children, Norma Price of Port Townsend, Wash., Bill Ashley of Kennewick, Wash., Jim (Tammy) Ashley of Tiftonia, Tenn., and Mike (Michelle) Ashley of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edith Ramey Campbell, 71, LaFayette

Edith Ramey Campbell of LaFayette died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011. She was 71.

She was born to the late Dewey and Aplin Ramey in LaFayette on June 22, 1940. She was of the Baptist faith, a former employee of LaFayette Cone Company, and she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons, Jeff (Angie) Campbell of LaFayette and Tim Campbell of Inman, S.C.; brother, Junior (Phyllis) Ramey of LaFayette, and six grandchildren.

Beverly Gentry Hardin, 41, Summerville

Beverly Gentry Hardin of Summerville died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was 41.

Beverly was born in Summerville, on June 1, 1970, daughter of Joyce Kirby Gentry and the late Ray “Dick“ Gentry.

In addition to her father, Beverly was preceded in death by a great-nephew, Evan Gentry.

Beverly was a member of the West Summerville Baptist Church and was previously employed with Georgia Rug Mill.

Survivors include her mother, Joyce Gentry; sisters and brother-in-law, Doris Laney, Judy and Danny Murdock; nieces, Holly Moore and Megan Seay; nephews, Garth Gentry and Derek Murdock; great-nieces, Breanna Adams, Kaitlyn Adams and Jazlyn Mosley; companion, Dickie Buchanan, and beloved pet “Nickels.”

Paige Pennington Graham, 11, Ringgold

Paige Pennington Graham died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at home, following an extended illness. She was 11.

She was born in Durham, N.C., on Dec. 31, 1999, and attended Morris Grove Elementary School. Paige had an amazing smile and an ability to convey her love to everyone in her midst. She delighted in the achievement of others, always applauding their successes. Paige enjoyed attending Sunday school, loved animals and especially loved being read to. She adored her brother and twin sister, and will be remembered for her joyful laughter and the ways she endeared herself to all who came to know her wonderful spirit.

Survivors include her parents, Penni and Eric Graham; brother John Erickson Graham; twin sister, Larkin Hobbs Graham; paternal grandfather, Don Graham Sr. of Pittsboro, N.C.; maternal grandmother, Patricia Hobbs of LaFayette; paternal great-grandmother, Mae Hobbs of LaFayette; aunt, Patrice H. Glass of Chattanooga, Tenn., and first cousins, Abby, Kent and Wes Glass.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, J.W Hobbs and Dorothy Graham, and great-grandmother, Velma Pennington.

Franklin Parke Snyder, 91, Hixson, Tenn.

Franklin Parke Snyder of Hixson, Tenn., died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at his residence. He was 91.

Charles E. Bell, 83, Rossville

Charles E. Bell, a lifelong resident of Rossville, died peacefully at a local healthcare facility, Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011. He was 83.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Marie Bell.

Survivors include sons, Richard (Elsie) Bell and Jeff (Pat) Bell; daughters, Jean (Ron) Williams, Frances (Richard) Johnson and Charlotte Bell; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one sister.

Laura Cordell Comer Stephenson, 95, LaFayette

Laura Cordell Comer Stephenson of LaFayette died Monday, September 26, 2011. She was 95.

She was the daughter of the late Henry S. and Laura Neely Cordell and stepmother, Frankie Pease Cordell.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Grant Comer; late husband, LeVoy Stephenson; brothers, Robert (Eleanor) and Frank (Mary Lou) Cordell; sisters, Hattie (Roscoe) DeBord, Mary (Paul) Ezell and Dovie (James) Manning, and brother-in-law, Ray Lamb, all of Walker County.

Survivors include her sister, Ann Lamb; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and very dear friends, Lowell and Mary Frances Thomas and family of Powder Springs.

She was retired from Lockheed Air Craft Corporation since 1977 with 25 years of service following 14 and a half years of employment at Regal Textile Corporation and a shorter period of employment at Arrow Shirts. Laura had been a member of LaFayette First Baptist Church since 1979, a member of the Joy Sunday school class and Mary Christian Circle, and served on the church social committee. Her main hobby seemed to be hard work. Each year she would have a large, very productive garden and enjoyed sharing it with her family, neighbors and friends.

Funeral service: Thursday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Robert Patterson and DTodd Gaddis officiating. Burial: LaFayette Memory Gardens. Wanda Bowman, 75, Chickamauga

Wanda Bowman of Chickamauga died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011. She was 75.

She had lived in the Chickamauga area for most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed life, loved spending time with her family and friends and was a huge fan of UTC Mocs football and basketball. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bowman, and sister, Mary Tatum.

Survivors include her two daughters, Terri Johnston of Chickamauga and Trisha Bowman of Ringgold; brother, George; two sisters, Judy and Sonia; two grandchildren, Jeremy Johnston and Chrissy King; two great-grandchildren, Ariana and Dolce; special members of the Crook and Lomenick families and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy Jean Cook, 74, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Peggy Jean Cook, 74, of Chattanooga, Tenn., died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, and reunited with her husband. She was 74.

She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Baptist faith. She was previously employed with The Health Center at Standifer Place for more than 15 years and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertie “Ninnie” Hill; husband, Donald Cook, and son, Randy Roberson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike (Sonya) Cook of East Ridge, Tenn., and Donnie (Susie) Cook of Harrison, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie (James) Johnson of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; four sisters and one brother, all of Nashville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Hicks Coppit, 80, Rossville

Dorothy Hicks Coppit of Rossville died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at her home. She was 80.

She was a longtime resident of Walker County, was a loving and faithful wife, taught Sunday school most of her adult life and co-pastored with her husband at House of God and radio broadcast ministry until health problems arose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Edna Hicks, and brother, J.B. Hicks.

Survivors include her loyal husband of 43 years, Don Coppit; daughters, Janice (Ed) Lawson and Linda (Larry) Sain; stepchildren, Tammey (Mike) King, Glenda (Anthony) Hickman and Pete (Sheba) Coppit; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sister and great friend, Flora Belle Durham.

Special thanks to a compassionate and God sent caregiver Ann Vivian.

William Howard Davis, 85, Ringgold

William Howard Davis of Ringgold died Friday, Sept. 23, 2011. He was 85.

He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a member of Naomi Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Hegwood Davis.

Survivors include his daughter, Judy Lemons; son, Danny Davis; sister, Betty Plott, all of Ringgold; brother, Carl Thurman Davis of Tunnel Hill; grandchildren, Howard A. Davis, Gregg Phillips and Stacy Farrow; great-grandchildren, Morgan Davis and Amanda Stafford; great-great-grandchild, Grace Lee Stafford, and several nieces and nephews.

Earl Hullender, 79, Chatsworth

Earl Hullender of Chatsworth died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011. He was 79.

A lifelong resident of the north Georgia area, he was owner and operator of Hullender Plumbing and Electric for 47 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Annie Robinson Hullender; brothers, John, Bud and Jack Hullender, and two sisters, Ruby Cummings and Shirley Hamill.

Survivors include his wife, Nannie Lee Hullender of Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Philip West of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four sisters, Myrtle Teems of Tunnel Hill, Merrell Guffey of Tunnel Hill, Maxine Hughes of Ringgold and Rosie Byrd of Ringgold; caregivers, Joyce Black and Debbie Janow, both of Chatsworth, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice for all they have done for Mr. Hullender and the family.

Gladys Henson Wright, 86, Tunnel Hill

Gladys Henson Wright of Tunnel Hill died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011. She was 86.

A lifelong resident of the Catoosa County area, she was a former employee of Caridon Textile, where she worked for over 20 years, and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wright Sr.; parents, George and Ora Clark Henson, and daughter, Jeanette Headrick.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Robert Wright Jr. (Bonnie) of Tunnel Hill; sister, Dean Jackson of LaFayette; two granddaughters, Nancy Kaye Amos of LaFayette and Lisa Beck of Tunnel Hill; three great-grandchildren, Ambria and Christopher Crider, both of LaFayette, and Quinnian Erasmus Beck of Tunnel Hill; two great-great-grandchildren, Lucas Amos and Bentley Harris, both of LaFayette, and several nieces and nephews.

Marble Shirley Hullender Hamill, 97, Ringgold

Marble Shirley Hullender Hamill of Ringgold died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011. She was 97.

A lifelong resident of Ringgold area, she was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard David Hamill; son, Keith Hamill; parents, Henry and Annie Robinson Hullender; two brothers, Aaron “Bud” and John Hullender, and two grandchildren, David Hamill and Roy “Rusty” Hullender Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Marie Hamill Hullender of Ringgold; two sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Barbara Hamill of Fort Oglethorpe and James Hamill of Ringgold; brother, Earl Hullender of Chatsworth; four sisters, Myrtle Teems of Tunnel Hill, Merrell Guffey of Tunnel Hill, Maxine Hughes of Ringgold and Rosie Byrd of Ringgold; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara Ann Shelby, 76, Fort Oglethorpe

Barbara Ann Shelby of Ft. Oglethorpe died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, in a local health care facility. She was 76.

She was a native and lifelong resident of north Georgia and a 56-year member of Calvary Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Shelby and her late husband, James Shelby, were the owners and operators of Shelby’s Exxon in Ft. Oglethorpe for many years. He preceded her in death in 1988.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Mae Jewell Watkins; sister, Elizabeth Phillips, and brother, Ed Watkins.

Survivors include her children, Gay (Mark) Maupin of Signal Mountain, Lindy (Danny) Jenkins of Smithville, Tenn., and James Mark (Mindy) Shelby of Dalton; brother, Carol Watkins of Little River, S.C.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Brian Keith Anchondo, 40, Rossville

Brian Keith Anchondo of Rossville died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, in a local hospital. He was 40.

He was a native of Hemet, Calif., and had lived in the north Georgia area for the past 38 years. Brian attended the The Rock Bridge Church in Dalton and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during Desert Storm. Brian was employed with Alstom Power for the past 14 years and was preceded in death by his father Aurelio Anchondo.

Survivors are his loving wife of 10 years, Cathy Erwin Anchondo; children, Jacob Harriss and Kayla Boudro, both of Rossville; mother Linda Carole Anchondo of Rossville; brothers, Chris (Tina) Anchondo and Michael (Jenni) Anchondo, all of Ringgold, and Scott (Doris) Erwin of Rossville; sister, Teresa (Mike) Gravitt of Rossville, and several nieces and nephews.

Ronald Ray Brown, 46, Rossville

Ronald Ray Brown of Rossville died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011. He was 46.

He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and Rossville, where he was employed as a painter by Randy Wilson Painting. His passion in life was his family, and he was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons, the Tennessee Vols and Jeff Gordon.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Renee Brown and his grandmother Nell Brown.

Survivors include his daughters, Christy Staton and Tabatha McWhorter, both of Rossville; father, Charles F. Brown of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brother, Allen Brown of Rossville, and six grandchildren.

Rev. Kenneth Putnam, 76, Vidalia

Reverend Kenneth Putnam of Vidalia died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia. He was 76.

Rev. Putnam was born in LaFayette and was a lifelong resident of southeast Georgia. He was retired from the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Gateway Worship Center, where he was associate pastor. For the past 54 years he pastored several churches in the counties of Emanuel, Wheeler, Treutlen, Toombs, Appling and Walker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Holmes Putnam; brother, Jim Putnam, and a sister, Hazel Johnson.

Funeral services: Monday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Revs. Ron Drawdy and Don Drawdy officiating. Burial: Hawhammock Church Cemetery.

Bessie Ruth Busbin Copeland, 83, Ringgold

Bessie “Becky” Ruth Busbin Copeland of Ringgold died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011. She was 83.

A resident of the Ringgold area for the past 48 years, she was formerly of Lyerly. Becky was a retired employee of Ringgold Chrysler, where she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of Ringgold United Methodist Church and a member of the F.O.B. Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Copeland Sr.; son, John M. Copeland Jr., and parents, Walter Cleveland and Grace Beatrice Bagley Busbin.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bobby Gordy of Ringgold; sister, Martha Shook of Summerville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy Stephenson Powell, Ringgold

Nancy Stephenson Powell of Ringgold died Monday Sept. 19, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Stephenson of Ringgold.

Survivors include her husband, James E. “Jim” Powell, of Ringgold.

Nancy attended Young Harris University and graduated from Wesleyan College in Macon. She also attended the University of Tennessee in Memphis and Nashville and obtained a degree in social work. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Nancy Powell served the Ringgold-Catoosa County community in the school system at Ringgold Elementary School, and was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir and was a familiar face. She also enjoyed walking, ballroom dancing and traveling. She will be remembered as a very kind person who cared for pets and small animals. Nancy dearly loved her friends and family and those she served.

Jim and Nancy recently renovated her father's historic medical office in downtown Ringgold, and together they braved the twin tornadoes that swept the town on April 27, 2011, their home sustaining damage.

Winnie “Lucile” Sexton Stubblefield, 83, Ringgold

Winnie “Lucile” Sexton Stubblefield of Ringgold died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011. She was 83.

She was born to the late Arthur and Willie Sexton in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Aug. 13, 1928. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and she enjoyed flowers, sewing, cooking, canning, crocheting and quilting, but most of all, spending time with her family.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stubblefield; brother, Lloyd Sexton, and sisters, Katherine Cox, Betty Lowery and Earlene Self.

Survivors include her daughters, Myrtle (Jerry) Gordon, Martha Wooten and Mary Arwood, all of Ringgold, and Joyce (Joe) Moore of Tunnel Hill; sons, Charley Stubblefield and John (Shirley) Stubblefield, all of Ringgold; sister-in-law, Sarah Sexton of Ringgold; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

James Eulice Smith, 65, Rossville

James Eulice Smith of Rossville died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eulice L. V. Smith and Luella Watkins Smith, and brother, Marvin Smith.

Survivors include his son, Jimmy Smith of Rossville; sisters, Brenda Thompson of Ooltewah, Tenn., and Glenda Salser of Springfield, Ohio, and brothers, Ricky Smith of Urbana, Ohio, Kenneth Smith of Rossville and Jerry Smith of Hixson, Tenn.

Neil McDaniel, 66, Rock Spring

Neil McDaniel of Rock Spring died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011. He was 66.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Felton McDaniel and Nelle Shields McDaniel; brother, Charles McDaniel, and sisters, Patricia Hardeman and Martha Bible.

Survivors include his wife, Janette; daughter, Lori (Mike) Warren; son, Pat (Kristy) McDaniel; brothers, Reece McDaniel and Edwin McDaniel; grandchildren, Randi, Whitney and Cole Penland and Grace and Ben McDaniel, and several nieces and nephews.

Neil was owner and operator of McDaniel Tractor Supply for many years. He was a successful real estate salesman and auctioneer with Potts Brothers Land and Auction for over 20 years, filling many shoes, such as listing and selling nunerous properties, bulldozing and cleaning up land to be auctioned and participating in many fundraisers and charitable events. Neil was a board member of the Georgia Farm Bureau and Masonic Lodge in LaFayette. He was an avid horseman, lover of music and operated “The Chicken House” for many years.

He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, whether it was hauling dirt to build the Rock Spring ball fields, to fundraising for a local elementary school or a large charity such as the March of Dimes. He had a servant’s heart and was always ready to do what he could to make someone else’s life better. He was a friend to all who knew him.

Pauline Lindsey Floyd Morgan of LaFayette died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011. She was 89.

She was a member of the Noble Church of God, and she was formerly employed at Roper Corp. in LaFayette.

Gordon Levi Williams, 83, Ringgold

Gordon Levi Williams of the Woodstation community in Ringgold died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. He was 83.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He died peacefully with his wife and family by his side. Gordon was a member of Woodstation United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Williams Waterproofing and Construction for 43 years, having business in Dearborn, Mich., for 20 years and then in Ringgold till his retirement in 1997, and also owned Williams Antiques located in Ringgold.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years Dorcus “Dot” Holcombe Williams; daughter, Carolyn Williams; parents, Russell and Louise Trundle Williams; sister, Sarah Cox, and brother, Trundle Williams.

Survivors include his loving wife, who Gordon affectionately called “Punkin,” Linda Cobb Williams; four children, Tony Williams of South Haven, Miss., Anne Free (Paul) of Decatur, Rebecca Brindle of Ft. Nicole Miller Kendrick, 41, Lookout Mountain

Nicole Miller Kendrick of Lookout Mountain died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at her home. She was 41.

Nicole graduated from Chattanooga Valley High in 1988 and earned her bachelor’s degree of science in microbiology and her master’s degree in medical biology from the University of Georgia, and later attended Mercer Medical School. She devoted her life to being a housewife and homeschooling her children. Her hobbies included sewing and the arts, and she was a lifelong member of New Lookout Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gordon and Etta Autry and Leonard and Dixie Miller.

Survivors include her loving husband of 13 years, David Kendrick; three children, Tristan Autry Kendrick, Georgia Katelyn Kendrick and Norah Elizabeth Kendrick; parents, Kenneth and Joan Miller, all of Lookout Mountain, and her sister, Suzanne (Nick) Wyche of Chattanooga, Tenn.

He was a native of Murphy, N.C., having moved from Michigan in 2004. Mr. Solesbee was retired from General Motors in Lavonia, Mich., after 38 years and service and was a member of the UAW, and was an avid gardener.

Cletus Bancroft, 88, Rossville

Cletus Bancroft of Rossville died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at a local hospital. He was 88.

He had lived most of his life in the Chattanooga and north Georgia area. He was a United States Army Air Force veteran serving during World War II, was owner and operator of Supreme Body Shop in Rossville, and was of the Church of God faith.

Wanda S. Griggs, 77, Rossville

Wanda S. Griggs of Rossville died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011. She was 77.

She was born to the late E.E. and Nancy Peters Smith in Watauga, Tenn., and moved to the Rossville area in 1998. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Chickamauga and retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections in 1998 after 10 years of service. Wanda was a faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed serving her Lord and family.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Margaret Jean Latham Deverell of Whitesburg died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011. She was 86.

A resident of Whitesburg for the past year, she was formerly of Tunnel Hill. She was a former employee of Southern University, where she worked as a librarian for 22 years, and was a member of the Ringgold Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James John Deverell; son, Bruce Courtney Benedict, and parents, Elder William and Margaret Phillips Latham.

Survivors include three children, Kent Benedict of Whitesburg, Anne Mignonne Swilling and Ed Deverell of Little Silver, N.J.; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Frank McAllister, 89, Flintstone

Frank McAllister of Flintstone died Friday, Sept, 9, 2011. He was 89.

He was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia area and was a member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church, where he was the song director for 40 years. He was an Army veteran and retired from Combustion Engineering.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Mae McAllister; granddaughter, Tira Nation, and great grandson, Blake Allen.

Robert A. Sutton, 75, Flintstone

Robert A. Sutton of Flintstone died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, in a local hospital. He was 75.

He was the retired owner of Chattanooga Restoration Company. He was a former member of the Remodelers Council of Chattanooga. Mr. Sutton was well-traveled and had lived in many places prior to moving to the north Georgia area. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Kidd and was also very proud of the many years he worked as a communications engineer with the Bendix Corporation, which was a federal contractor for NASA during the Apollo Program. He was also a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church in Ft. Oglethorpe.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dolores Sutton; daughters, Kim (Rob) McIvor of Rossville and Karen M. Clara Jean Edgeman of Ringgold died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011. She was 64.

She was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia area and was a member of Community Baptist Church in Rock Spring. She was previously employed with Southern Metal for more than 21 years and loved spending time outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.

Helen Marie Trew Ware, 81, Ringgold

Helen Marie Trew Ware of Ringgold died Tuesday Sept. 13, 2011. She was 81.

A resident of the Ringgold area for most of her life, she was a former employee of DuPont and was a member of Westview Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Joe Ware, and parents, Walter Lee and Lena Agnes Flanagan Trew.

Survivors by three children, Mike Martin of Greenwood, S.C., Ralph Martin of Greenwood, S.C., and Sherrian Hooks of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Betty Taylor of Ringgold and Sandra White of Apison, Tenn.; two brothers, James Trew and Richard Trew, both of Apison, Tenn., and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friday, Sept. 16, from 3-8 p.m. and until funeral time Saturday, Sept. 17, at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Heritage Healthcare in Ft.
