COMMUNITY · On Feb. 15, Parkridge Health System will offer AngioScreen, a simple, non-invasive vascular screening designed to provide men and women with information about heart rhythm, neck and leg artery blockage, blood pressure and body mass index in addition to an overall fitness assessment. The Feb. 14 screening will be held from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m. at Parkridge East Hospital in the Lamaze/Birthplace Classroom and the Feb. 15 screening will be held from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m. at Parkridge Medical Center in the Fowler Classroom. COMMUNITY · Early voting in Catoosa County for the presidential preference primary has begun at Catoosa Hall on Nashville St. in Ringgold. Registered voters can cast ballots Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. until March 2. New this year is Saturday voting on Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., and late voting will be available March 1 until 7 p.m.

COMMUNITY · Coosa Valley Regional Services will hold a monthly board meeting Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. at their main office at 3 Riverside Industrial Parkway in Rome. The public is invited.

COMMUNITY · The REFRESH Committee and interested community members will meet Thursday, Feb. 16, at 5:30 p.m. in the work room at Fort Oglethorpe City Hall.

COMMUNITY · Walker County’s Constitutional Officers – clerk of court Carter Brown, probate judge Christy Anderson, tax commissioner Carolyn Walker and sheriff Steve Wilson – will present a program on the services and duties of their respective offices at the Armuchee Valley Community Center Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.

COMMUNITY · Highland Presbyterian Church in LaFayette is offering free childcare for couples wishing to go out on Valentine’s weekend. The church will offer childcare for children (infant to 12 years old) on Friday, Feb. 17, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is at 1211 W. ENTERTAINMENT · Four Points, Inc., is sponsoring its fifth annual Father Daughter Dance at the Walker County Civic Center Friday, Feb. 17, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres, beverages, corsages, portraits, music and dancing will be available. Dress up or dress down—just come! This event will provide a memorable night for you and your daughter, granddaughter, stepdaughter or foster daughter. Cost is $5 per person.
