Randall Peters of the Catoosa County Development Authority said two companies have shown interest in coming to the Catoosa County Commerce Center on Ga. 151.

Last week the development authority met with Mike Gray of Panattoni Development Co. to discuss the site’s potential.

Peters said Gray reported that two companies — which were not named at this time —have contacted Panattoni with interest in using the property.

The county has stated that it wants the center to house automotive developers for the upcoming Volkswagen plant set to open in Chattanooga in 2011.

Peters said, however, the companies that have expressed interest in the center are not automotive suppliers.

“We just want good, clean industries to invest capital in the county,” Peters said. “We’re not just targeting automotive suppliers.”
