A truck driver was shot in the arm with a high-powered rifle Tuesday afternoon while traveling along I-75 in Ca-toosa County.

The victim, identified as George F. McKeever of Floral City, Fla., reported the incident occurred near exit 350 and I-75 at Battlefield Parkway.

He is reported to be in good condition at Erlanger and is expected to recover from injuries.

According to a report by the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, it has been determined that a bullet from a high-powered rifle struck McKeever through his passenger side window.

The report said the case is still under investigation and it is unclear whether the incident was an accident or in-tended to cause injury to the victim.

According to Sheriff Phil Summers, “at approximately 4:30 p.m. on December 29, Catoosa County 911 Center re-ceived a call from East Ridge Police Department in reference to a shooting incident that occurred in Catoosa County. Catoosa County officers met with East Ridge Police officers at the Tennessee Welcome Center on I-75 in East Ridge. Information was obtained that apparently a truck driver traveling North on I-75 was injured when a bullet shattered the passenger’s side window and struck him in the right arm.”
