COMMUNITY · Super Bowl themed baskets, baked goods and a brand-new Roper oven will be auctioned off at the Lafayette-Walker County Public Library from 2 to 4 p.m. This annual auction is hosted by the Friends of the Lafay-ette-Walker County Library. All are welcome.

Monday, Feb. 6

COMMUNITY · The Conasauga Chapter of the Georgia Nurses Association will meet at the Whitfield County Health Center at 7 p.m. Patrick Livingstone, medical representative from Forest Pharmaceutical, Inc., will bring the speaker, Dr. Andrew Vernon, pulmonologist from Chattanooga. COMMUNITY · The LaFayette-Walker County Public Library will have their Preschool Ready to READ class on Mondays, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 10 a.m.

COMMUNITY · “First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe is sponsoring “Navigating through Change.” Are you seeking employment or more fulfillment in your job? First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe will offer classes on crafting your resume, interviewing for jobs, telling your story, and finding more fulfillment in work. Classes are taught by HR professionals and teachers from the area. “Navigating through Change” starts Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 2645 LaFayette Road in Fort Oglethorpe. ENTERTAINMENT · A Father-Daughter Dinner Dance will be held Friday, Feb. 10, beginning at 5 p.m., at The Colonnade. Fathers and their daughters ages 5 to 11 are invited. Admission is $75 per couple and $35 for each addi-tional daughter and includes photos at 5 p.m., a formal dinner at 6 p.m., and an evening of dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. The registration deadline is Monday, Feb. 6. CHURCH · The Winter Bible Conference, “Israel and Prophecy,” is at Faith Baptist Church Feb. 6-10 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Featured preachers are Billy Mitchell (Monday through Thursday) and Ronnie Jones (Friday). This event was originally scheduled for Jan. 9-13. No day services. COMMUNITY · Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School is offering studio space for local artists and classes for community members. Stained glass classes run Feb. 7, 9, 21 and 23. Artists wishing to utilize the art room and equipment are welcome to attend any of the scheduled evening sessions and work in your medium. Room 310 will be open from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. each class night. Classes are $15 per night or $40 per month, which includes most supplies. COMMUNITY · Northwest Georgia Family Share, a support group caring for families with special needs, meets the first Tuesday of every month. The group meets Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall at LaFayette First Baptist Church.
