Joshua Samuel Simpson of Rossville received a life sentence for felony murder and 20 years for aggravated assault, both to run concurrent, for the murder of Michael Warren Wyscaver.
The jury began deliberations Thursday afternoon and ended Friday around noon.
His trial began Monday morning in Walker County Superior Court in downtown LaFayette.
The teen was accused of beating to death 47-year-old Wyscaver of Rossville. Authorities believe Simpson killed Wyscaver sometime around Aug. 15, 2008, after they got into an argument.
Wyscaver’s body was discovered about two weeks later in an abandoned house on West Pine Street, which is near the victim’s residence. He had died of blows to the head.
Simpson faced four possible charges that the jury could have convicted him on — malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and voluntary manslaughter.
I LOVE MY SON & I ONLY WISH NONE OF THIS EVER HAPPENED TO EITHER FAMILY....
