A Rossville woman was arrested for battery during a domestic dispute.

According to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office:

Thirty-year-old Jamie Noel Karpy of West Rebel Road was arrested for battery and cruelty to children on Feb. 7.

An argument over laundry, between Karpy and her husband, had boiled over into a fight, which led a child to call 911. In the argument Karpy threw a picture frame at her husband. The shattered frame was still on the floor when police arrived.

The husband, who admitted to drinking 5-6 beers, attempted to get up from the couch when Karpy “hit him twice in the face with her cell phone.” She later knocked an ice pack out of his hand that he had been using for the swelling from being assaulted. After hearing that, their child entered the room and notified his parents that he had called 911.

The mother grabbed her son and fled in an SUV before authorities arrived. She was arrested the following evening on a warrant.
