Rossville Lady Bulldogs pick up win over Trion

The Rossville Middle School Lady Bulldogs picked up their first basketball win of the season this past Tuesday, earning a 36-35 victory over Trion.

Brook Fuller paced Rossville with seven points while adding a team-high 16 rebounds, 10 coming on the offensive end. Christina DeSalvo had six points with Mary Curtis and Desiree Russell added four points each.

The Rossville boys were not as fortunate, dropping a 50-26 decision to the North Georgia Athletic Conference's other set of Bulldogs.

Jalyn Shelton led Rossville with nine points and six rebounds, while Isiah Foster had a team-high 14 points for Trion.

The Rossville boys got back on track on Thursday with a 50-46 overtime home victory against Dade County.

Down six points at halftime and down four to start the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs forced the extra period after tying the game, 44-44, at the end of regulation.

Then in overtime, Jacob Gadd hit his fourth three-pointer of the night to give Rossville (5-7) the lead for good, and Christian Gentry iced the game with a free throw in the closing seconds.

Grayson Moore had a big game with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals. Gadd finished with 14 points, and Sonny Green connecting on 5-of-6 important free throws to help fuel the comeback.

Information on the girls' game against Dade County was not available as of press time.
