A Ringgold woman missing for almost two weeks has been located safe and sound, police say.

According to Maj. Gary Sisk with the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old Carolyn Clayton, who went missing on Sept. 6 has been located.

"There's isn't too much information to relay in the matter other than she has indeed been located," Sisk said Tuesday morning.

The nearly two-week search began after Clayton's husband reported her missing on Sept. 6, stating that she had mentioned plans to travel to Loudon, Tenn., to visit her father, but never made it.

"Our office appreciates all the diligent work by the media that went into locating Mrs. Clayton. However, she and her family asks that their privacy be respected. Officers have spoken with Mrs. Clayton, and she is doing well. There will be no further information available from the Sheriff's Office staff on this matter."
