Lakeview High School alumni and current Los Angeles Dodgers' pitching coach Rick Honeycutt will be the featured guest speaker at the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School gymnasium this Saturday at 10 a.m.

Honeycutt, 57, will speak on his over 20 years' experience as a Major League Baseball player and coach and what he feels it takes to make it to the big leagues.

Honeycutt played 21 seasons with the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, and St. Louis Cardinals. He pitched in 30 post-season games, including 20 league championship series games and seven World Series games, going 3-0 in post-season play. He gave up zero runs in the 1988 and 1990 post-seasons, and was a member of the Oakland Athletics 1989 World Series championship team.

Also speaking at the event is local college and high school baseball coach Bobby Brotherton.

The cost for admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. There will be an auction/raffle of Major League Baseball signed memorabilia with all proceeds benefitting the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Recreation Association.
