According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:
David Allen Hamilton, 22, of Mayfair Lane in Fort Oglethorpe was arrested on May 2 on charges of theft of ser-vices and pedestrian under the influence of alcohol. He is also being held for the sheriff’s office in Hamilton County, Tenn.
Officers were dispatched to the Taco Bell at 3022 Ga. 2 (Battlefield Parkway) at approximately 12:30 a.m. in ref-erence to a white male banging on the door of the restaurant.
Upon arrival, officers were told by employees that the man had left the scene on foot and was last seen across the street at the Kangaroo gas station, reports show.
“I went to the Kangaroo Express across the street and located the male,” officer Michael Fergerson wrote in the report. “While speaking with him (Hamilton), I could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. When I asked him what had taken place at the Taco Bell, he stated that he did not do anything but eat.”
Hamilton was then escorted back to Taco Bell where statements were obtained from the store manager and cashier who served Hamilton.
The store manager told police that Hamilton came into the restaurant and told the cashier that the store had messed up his order earlier in the evening.
When the cashier asked for Hamilton’s receipt from earlier, he stated that he had left it in his vehicle, at which time the store manager went ahead and corrected the order, reports show.
“The manager stated that it was Taco Bell policy to attempt to correct anything that was wrong with a previous order,” Fergerson said.
While eating, Hamilton began yelling and cursing at a cashier about sauce, reports show.
At one point during the meal, Hamilton walked outside, at which time the store manager locked the door to pre-vent Hamilton from re-entering.
Both the store manager and cashier stated that Hamilton became angry and began banging on the door after re-alizing that he had been locked out, reports show.
