NGAC basketball tournaments start up today

The North Georgia Athletic Conference basketball tournament will tip off at Heritage Middle School in Ringgold beginning at 4:30 this afternoon with a game between the No. 8-seeded Trion Lady Bulldogs and the No. 9-seeded Rossville Lady Bulldogs.

The No. 8-seeded Chattanooga Valley Eagles and the No. 9-seeded Lakeview Warriors will open the boys’ tournament at 5:45, and the No. 2-seeded Ringgold Lady Tigers will face the No. 7-seeded Chattanooga Valley Lady Eagles at 7 p.m.

Tuesday will see the top-seeded teams in action as the Gordon Lee boys will square off with the Chattanooga Valley-Lakeview winner at 4:30, followed at 5:45 by the Heritage girls against Trion or Rossville.

On Wednesday at 4:30, the No. 3-seeded Gordon Lee girls will take on No. 6 LaFayette, and the No. 3 Heritage boys will face No. 6 Rossville.

The No. 4-seeded Dade County girls will go up against No. 5 Lakeview at 4:30 on Thursday, while the 5:45 game will pit the No. 2 Trion boys against No. 7 Ringgold.

There will be four semifinal games on Friday, beginning at 4:30. The girls’ championship game will tip off at 12 noon on Saturday, followed by the boys’ championship game at approximately 2 p.m.

The All-League and All-Tournament teams will be announced following each championship game.
