COMMUNITY · Are you ready for the next disaster or emergency? Amateur radio gets through when all else fails, even cell phones. Sign up for the next amateur radio class, sponsored by the Collegedale Amateur Radio Club, and taught by Dean Saunders, AA4XL. The class will meet for six Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. at the McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5440 McDonald Road, McDonald, Tenn., beginning Feb. 21. EDUCATION · The regular monthly meetings of the Walker County Board of Education will be held on the third Monday of each month, with the exception of the January, February, November and December meetings in 2012. Meetings will be held at 6 p.m. at the Walker County Department of Education Building, 201 South Duke Street, LaFayette. 2012 meetings are Feb. 21, March 19, April 16, May 14, June 18, July 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10.

COMMUNITY · “Crafters and Knappers; 10,000 years of arrowheads,” a special display of arrowheads from the pa-leo to historic periods, is on display at the Walker County Heritage Museum. There are also signature displays of Civil War, World War II, and Vietnam War weapons, equipment and uniforms. The display runs through May 15. The museum is at the railroad depot at 100 Gordan Street in Chickamauga, and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Call 706-375-4488 for more information.
COMMUNITY · The Catoosa County Tea Party will host a town hall meeting with Tom Graves, Georgia’s 9th Dis-trict U.S. representative, as guest speaker. The event will be at the Acoustic Cafe at 61 Rbc Drive, Ringgold.
