Officials said the road renaming was necessary in order to prevent any confusion for emergency vehicles or citizens.
County manager Mike Helton said the access road, which lies south of the Cloud Springs and Mack Smith Road intersection, was put in place during the repairs and renovating of Dietz Road.
Loosely, it has been referred to as the Mack Smith Extension Road, but required an official name for the records.
After a 3-2 vote, the name “Mineral Avenue Access Road” was officially adopted.
