LaFayette Middle softballers topple Gordon Lee

The LaFayette Lady Ramblers held serve against Walker County rival Gordon Lee on Thursday, beating the Lady Trojans in LaFayette, 9-4.

Raleigh Lewis was 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs while playing solid defense in left field. Katie Cain also went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs.

Jade Maggard and Shayla Ludy each had two singles. Maggard scored three times while Ludy knocked in two runs and scored once.

Madison Harris extended her five-game hitting streak with a single, a run scored and one RBI, while Kiki Evans and Katie Cook each scored once in the win.

Lindsey Shepherd pitched a complete game, striking out three Gordon Lee hitters and giving up only three hits through six innings.

Details for Gordon Lee were not available as of press time.

LaFayette (7-4) will try and extend their winning streak to five games when they play at North Whitfield in a non-league game at 5 p.m. today. Gordon Lee (6-4), who saw their three-game winning streak snapped, will look to bounce back at 5 p.m. today when they host Chattanooga Valley.
