The City of Lafayette’s annual Christmas parade, themed “A Christmas Wonderland,” is Friday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m.

The parade route begins at 512 S. Main St., then heads north through the town square, turns left onto Margaret St. and ends at the Sixth Grade Academy parking lot.

Bring the kids for candy and to see Santa ride into town, and check out all the floats as they compete for best-decorated.

Come out and see Lafayette’s free annual “Amazing Christmas” lights show that begins after the parade and continues until Jan. 2 at Joe Stock Memorial Park. Spectators may enjoy the state-of-the-art, synchronized musical light show daily from 6-10 p.m. at the park on N. Main St. Enjoy the whimsical display from the city park or in the warmth of your car. More than 300,000 lights and songs with dancing color arrangements will provide entertainment for the entire family. Spectators will be able to tune their car radios to FM 89.5 to hear the music from inside their cars. Shows are free to the public.

As in the past, the city will continue the tradition of hosting a large scale Lionel model train and village inside Chattooga Academy/Gordon Hall. The display will coincide with the “Amazing Christmas” light show from Dec. 7-Jan. 2 from 6-10 p.m.
