Windstone to host AJGA golf event June 3-6

The American Junior Golf Association will partner with the Evitt Foundation and the Ringgold Telephone Company for the 11th consecutive year as 96 of the nation’s top junior golfers compete in the Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star, June 3-6, at Windstone Golf Club in Ringgold. In 2012, the Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star was recognized as the Junior All-Star of the Year, an award given annually honoring the best Junior All-Star event on the AJGA schedule. The tournament practice round will be held Monday, June 3, while tournament rounds will be played Tuesday, June 4, through Thursday, June 6. Tee times for all three rounds will run 7:30 a.m.–12:40 p.m. off the No. 1 tee. Guests are welcome to attend and admission is free. For more information, visit ajga.org.

Chattanooga State to host GADC summer softball showcase on June 26

The Georgia Dugout Club will host a series of summer showcases to promote fastpitch softball in the state. The GADC will evaluate players (2013 rising freshman to rising seniors) at nine different sites in the month of June, including Chattanooga State on June 26. After the nine showcases, the GADC will select the top 80 showcase participants to compete in the Elite 80 showcase at Twin Creeks Park in Woodstock on July 17. The GADC will provide a program with contact information on each of the athletes for college coaches that attend the Elite 80 showcase, and the GADC website can be accessed by all college coaches to gather information on all players that participate in any of the nine showcases. The cost of the showcase is $105 for those who pre-register and there is no additional fee for those who qualify for the Elite 80 showcase. Registration cost will be $120 on the day of the event. LaFayette High School hosting soccer summer camp in June

The First Annual Rambler Soccer Summer Camp will be held June 10, 11, and 12 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the LaFayette High School soccer fields. The cost is $35 for those who pre-register and $45 on the day of the camp. Lunch will not be provided, but the concession stand will be open. Campers are asked to bring water or another sports drink, cleats, and shin guards. Campers will work with high school players and coaches to develop their individual and game skills as a soccer player. Along with a camp T-shirt, all paid campers will receive a season pass to all LHS soccer home games for the 2014 season.
