After opening a tasting booth on Rock City premises, Georgia Winery has released the first of three Rock City branded wines, Rock City Red.

After the success of other Rock City event wines such as Southern Blooms and Shamrock City, Georgia Winery has released Rock City Red, which will remain in stock year-round, as the primary red wine for the Chattanooga tourist destination.

The sweet red wine, which consists of the winery’s Tailgate Red, is dressed with a special Rock City label and red bottle. The label features two of Rock City’s iconic figures, the “See Rock City” birdhouse and the sweeping “See Seven States.” In the 1950s, Rock City promoters designed the iconic red and black painted birdhouse, which mirrored the legendary roadside barn roof advertising proclaiming the famous call to action: “See Rock City!”

Plans are in the works for the winery to release a Rock City White and a Rock City Blush in 2013. Rock City Red is available at Georgia Winery’s main location as well as Rock City.

Founded in 1983, Georgia Winery is Georgia’s very first farm winery. Specializing in muscadine wine, Georgia Winery has competed in numerous wine competitions with various wines from all over the world, taking home more than 200 medals, including “Best in Class,” “Double Gold,” “Best of Show” and “Concordance Gold.”

Stop by the winery and taste award-winning wines while browsing through the gift shop. Georgia Winery is at 6469 Battlefield Pkwy. in Ringgold (exit 350 off I-75).

Rock City Gardens, Inc. is at 1400 Patten Road in Lookout Mountain, Ga.
