WSB Radio in Atlanta reports that a semitrailer overturned near Carbondale Road and exit 326, and the southbound lanes were blocked around 6 a.m. Thursday.
WTVC-TV in Chattanooga, Tenn., says no injuries were reported, and it was not immediately clear when the soutbound lanes of the interstate would be reopened. It also was unclear how much of the chemical spilled and how long it would take to clean up.
The accident scene is about 30 miles south of Chattanooga on the busy Tennessee-Georgia corridor.
