• Between Nov. 23, 2012 and Jan. 8, 2013, a forced-entry burglary occurred at Colony Mini Storage in Ringgold, resulting in the theft of nearly $3,000 worth of merchandise from its units.

The victim told police she received a phone call from the manager of the storage units, and arrived to find that her unit had been burglarized.

She stated that unknown offender(s) cut the bracket which holds the lock in place, entered her building, and made off with a number of her possessions.

Two 62-inch televisions, a Whirlpool washer and dryer set, a sleigh bed, a dining room table and chairs, and a microwave stand were among the items stolen.

The victim stated that she last visited the unit the day before Thanksgiving, and that at that time everything was fine with the unit.

The case was turned over to detective Jason Sullivan.

• Between Oct. 1, 2012 and Jan. 3, 2013, a forced-entry residential burglary occurred on Colyco Farms Lane, resulting in the theft of nearly $5,000 in cash and vehicle titles from the home.

The 89-year-old victim stated that in October, he noticed that a window sill was broken in his home, and on Jan. 3, he realized that five envelopes contain cash were missing from his home in addition to two vehicle titles.

The envelopes were taken from a filing cabinet, and totaled $4,848 in cash, while the titles were to 2004 and 1996 model Mercury Marquis cars.

He added that he returned home to find the filing cabinet slightly opened, but didn't immediately realize that anything had been taken from it.

The case was turned over to detective Jason Sullivan.
