An elderly Chickamauga man was killed Monday afternoon in a wreck on McFarland Avenue in Rossville.

The road, between Battlefield Parkway and Salem Road, was closed as the Georgia State Patrol investigated the accident, which occurred before 4 p.m.

A Plymouth Voyager van hit a gravel truck broadside, which was traveling north on McFarland Avenue. After impact both vehicles slid nearly 75 feet.
