The Heritage Generals scored 28 seconds into the second half to take a 23-8 lead on Thursday, and looked well on their way to completing an undefeated regular season.

Chattanooga Valley, however, had different plans.

The Eagles, down 29-14 to start the fourth quarter, thrilled the home crowd by rallying for 20 unanswered points in the final eight minutes to stun the Generals, 34-29.

Chattanooga Valley scored touchdowns with six minutes left and one minute left to pull to within three at 29-26, then got the ball back and took the lead on Ivy Boehm's one-yard sneak with just 11 seconds remaining.

Boehm had a huge afternoon, throwing two TD passes to Blaine Phillips and catching a TD pass from Phillips to spur the comeback. .

The win gave the Eagles a 3-4 overall record and put them in a four-way tie for the fourth and final playoff spot. No word on the tiebreaking procedure had been announced as of press time.

The North Georgia Athletic Conference football semifinals are set to be held next Thursday.
