Ringgold Telephone Co. is hosting the event, which is the company’s third annual Summerset Concert.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Northwest Georgia Bank Amphitheater in Ringgold.
Charlie Daniels is a Grammy Award-winning singer, guitarist and fiddler, who began writing and performing in the 1950s. In 1964 Daniels co-wrote “It Hurts Me,” which was recorded by Elvis Presley.
Charlie and his band’s music is not affiliated with any one genre. Hits like “In America,” “Uneasy Rider,” “The South’s Gonna Do It,” “Long-Haired Country Boy,” “Still in Saigon” and “The Legend of Wooley Swamp” are a blend of folk, southern boogie, country fiddle and electric rock anthem.
The Charlie Daniels Band’s chart-busting hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” became a platinum single, topped both country and pop charts, won a Grammy Award, earned three Country Music Association trophies and launched Daniels’ “Million Mile Reflections” album to triple platinum. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in January 2008.
All proceeds from the concert will benefit The Evitt Foundation, which promotes child welfare and education. The foundation will also be assisting families that have been displaced in the recent spring storms.
Internet presale tickets are available on ticketweb.com for $25. They can be purchased at the gate on the day of the event for $35. For more information, go to summersetconcert.com.
