Cain homers, throws perfect game against Dade County

LaFayette Middle School's Katie Cain pitched a perfect game and blasted a solo homerun off the scoreboard in the Lady Ramblers' 12-0 pasting of Dade County in an NGAC game on Tuesday.

Cain went 2-for-2 at the plate, adding a double to go with her round-tripper. She scored twice and drove in two runs while striking out eight Dade County hitters in the win.

Shayla Ludy had another big afternoon with three singles, three RBIs, two runs scored, and one stolen base. Kayleigh Goff went 2-for-3, drove in two runs, scored once, and collected a stolen base, while McKenzie Hogue added a single, a run scored, an RBI, and a stolen base.

Kiki Evans, Jade Maggard, and Shayla Youngblood all singled and scored while Youngblood picked up an RBI. Madison Harris drove in two runs. Raleigh Lewis doubled, scored once, and drove in a run, while Katie Cook and Lindsey Shepherd each scored once.

The Lady Ramblers (9-5) will play at home at 5 p.m. on Thursday against Daltonin a non-league game.
