Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park invites the public to attend a special living history weekend at the Lookout Mountain Battlefield Friday, July 17, Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19.
The living history volunteers representing the 17th Ohio Infantry Field Hospital will conduct talks on medical equipment and procedures used during the mid 19th century throughout the weekend. These unsung heroes of the medical profession had a gruesome and thankless job but saved countless lives during the four-year American Civil War.
Living history talks will be conducted at Point Park, located atop historic Lookout Mountain from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
