>>Lucas, You and I both know that no chain restaurant like O'Charleys, Applebees, Outback, Logans, ect.... will ever come to LaFayette without LBTD in their restaurant.<<
I don't know this. If you do, please provide the proof.
>>It is the issue at hand for many people. People like me that do not drink liquor but want chain restaurants in the community they live cannot have these restaurants simply because people see the word "Liquor" and vote against it.<<
If that is the consequence of the majority vote, then so be it. We cannot always have what we want. If LBTD had passed, those opposed to it would have been just as disappointed as you are right now.
And if you voted for LBTD in order to bring the places closer to you, did you really vote responsibly?
>>I read into the issue much deeper than just looking at the word "Liquor".<<
That's good. Don't you think others did the same?
>>I have never been in any of these restaurants where someone is stumbling around because they have had too much to drink.<<
I don't doubt it. They are either sitting down or already out the door and into their cars.
>>People go to bars / clubs for that.<<
Not when there are no bars/clubs around, and not everybody decides that if they want to get drunk, they MUST go to a bar.
>>Again, I am asking you Lucas...why in the world would you drive 30 miles to Ft. O for a steak dinner when you could easily have it in your own town?<<
I could easily have a steak dinner at home! Steak dinners are NOT THE ISSUE!
Why do you think Logan's or O'Charley's would be able to make it here when we have lost Burger King, Long John Silvers, and a proposed Captain D's, not to mention K-Mart, Food-Lion, and Cato.
>>And yes I have eaten with you before so I know you frequent these restaurants.<<
I am assuming you are Adam. If you have eaten with me before, then it was years ago, and you cannot honestly claim to know my eating habits. In fact, the only person who can is my wife! And she will tell you that we have neither the time nor the money to drive to these places just for dinner. If we happen to dine out, the great majority of the time we do so right here in town.
